True Corporation invests in Crave to create rental model

London: Crave Interactive, a developer of cloud-based digital guest service solutions for hotels, has announced a major investment by Thai telecommunications provider, True Corporation.

The deal provides a majority investment from True Digital & Media Company Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of True Corporation Public Company Limited. The investment will help to establish an innovative rental model for Crave that will accelerate the adoption of digital guest service solutions to replace out-of-date and inefficient solutions in hotels.

Crave is set to make a significant investment into the Asia-Pacific market, and it will do so by leveraging True’s technology, market positioning and partnerships in the region. It also aims to invest further across both the Americas and Europe, where it is already established as an industry-leading developer.

The company will be utilising the investment to double its research and development spend, in order to firm up its position as a leading vendor of in-room tablets with what it claims to be world-class technology and development capabilities.

Crave’s objective is to make paper directories and in-room marketing material obsolete with digital solutions that take the guest experience to new heights and maximise profits for hotels.

The cost of making the switch to digital has until now been high for hotels, thus restricting the sector growth, however the financial capital from True will enable Crave to launch a low-cost, low-risk short term rental model. Crave, meanwhile, believes this will enable more hotels to make the transition successfully to more innovative solutions.
