US: Airbnb has named Gus Fuldner as its global head of operations, according to an announcement circulated by Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky on Tuesday [10 March].
The former Uber Technologies Inc. senior vice president spent more than a decade at the company and is set to join Airbnb on March 16.
Fuldner will replace Tara Bunch, who has decided to retire after six years at the company. Bunch will stay with Airbnb until June as an advisor to assist with the transition.
The appointment represents the latest senior leadership hire Chesky has made this year.
Fuldner most recently served as senior vice president of core services. In that role, he oversaw teams responsible for safety, support, payments, insurance and identity.
