UK: European managed vacation rental business Awaze has announced two new appointments to its senior team.
Jennifer Day has been appointed to the role of chief growth officer [CGO] and Gavin Shetly has been named as chief technology officer [CTO]
Day arrives from Sky, where she served most recently as managing director and senior vice president of Sky Digital and Now TV UK and Ireland. Before that, she was group customer management director at online retailer Shop Direct, now known as the Very Group.
The new CGO will be responsible for driving customer demand, growth and creating a “holistic guest experience” across all Awaze brands.
Day said: “I’m extremely excited about joining the Awaze team to help lead our ambitious plans for growth. We have a passionate and dedicated team and exciting roadmap ahead of us.
“We’ll be transforming how we go to market across all of our brands throughout Europe, optimising revenue management capabilities and building the very best end-to-end guest experience,” she added.
Meanwhile, Shetly was previously CTO at Global Fashion Group, and he held other roles beforehand at the likes of Ikea and Paddy Power Betfair.
In his new position, he will be tasked with leveraging the commercial benefits of the company’s common web platform and driving continued innovation.
Shetly said: “I’d been tracking Awaze and the evolution of its business for several years. There’s so much potential for further development and I am delighted to be joining the team.”

Awaze’s brands include Hoseasons, NOVASOL and Cottages.com. Twelve months ago, the firm closed its James Villas brand as it sought to focus on the future growth of its core portfolio.
