Boostly strengthens presence in Australia with PMS partnership
Australia: Online hospitality training platform Boostly has partnered with Queensland-based, connected hospitality management platform Newbook to empower vacation rental owners to attract guests without using online travel agents [OTAs].
Through the partnership, the two companies say that they aim to help more than 50,000 owners avoid paying “pricey” commission fees by booking guests directly, saving up to AU$20,000 a year per rental.
It marks the first time that Boostly has teamed up with an Australian property management system [PMS] in Newbook, and they say that the partnership could save owners more than AU$1 billion in charges a year. It will also allow hosts to sync property listings, live booking rates, availability and property information from the Newbook PMS onto a Boostly direct booking website.
Holiday rentals reportedly earn an average of AU$800,001 per year in the country, however hosts typically pay 15 – 25 per cent in fees to third-party booking websites.
Mark Simpson, founder of Boostly, said: “We’re thrilled to bring the Book Direct movement to Australia. Our core mission is to give property managers the tools and confidence to step away from tech giants like Airbnb.
“Partnering with Newbook was a real no-brainer. Hosts and travellers have become increasingly tired of high fees and, by reclaiming their profits for themselves, property owners can consciously choose to stop diverting billions of dollars a year to third-party booking sites,” he added.
More than 250,000 properties were registered as short-term rentals towards the end of last year in Australia, attracting international and domestic tourists to the country.
Boostly, launched in 2016, claims to be the only company worldwide that offers direct booking website design and online training for property owners and managers. The business plans to help one million hosts worldwide reduce their reliance on third-party booking websites by providing the tools to help hosts and managers increase their profits through direct bookings.
