Emma Villas debuts on Italian Stock Exchange

Italy: Siena-based villa rental and tour operator, Emma Villas, is going public via an initial public offering [IPO] on the Euronext Growth Milan [EGM], the Italian Stock Exchange market dedicated to SMEs with high growth potential.

After the news about Emma Villas’ potential IPO became public in July, the company has now raised €3.5 million [€3.2 million in capital increase and €298,000 as part of the green shoe option for sale], completing the over-allotment option.

In total, Emma Villas’ IPO market capitalisation is around €23 million with a placement price of €3.30 per share [below the €4.15 – €4.65 range that had previously been suggested].

The listing will enable the company to accelerate its merger and acquisition [M&A] and organic growth strategies, as well as to consolidate its operations domestically in Italy and abroad in countries such as France, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Croatia. It will also mark the start of a push by Emma Villas to expand its experiences offering, which so far includes wine tastings and Vespa rides.

Founded in 2006 by Giammarco Bisogno, Emma Villas describes itself as the first instant buyer and property manager in Italy, managing 550 exclusive properties, including 200 in Tuscany.

The company allows guests to rent out luxury villas, country houses, farmhouses and residences with private swimming pools on a weekly basis. Its properties are located in 15 regions across mainland Italy and islands, including Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Emilia Romagna, Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily, Lazio, Liguria, Veneto, Lombardy, Piedmont, Campania, Abruzzo and Calabria.

In 2022, Emma Villas reported revenues of €28.3 million, a 56.5 per cent growth on 2021 figures. Since 2006, the company has welcomed more than 35,000 guests on average each year from countries such as the UK, Germany and the United States, and 480 of its villas in Italy are selected by a team of 50 professionals and periodically checked by a team of quality inspectors.
