eviivo announces tour to celebrate independent accommodation

UK: Hospitality software company eviivo has announced a “unique” world tour to celebrate independent accommodation as part of Independent Accommodation Day [24 March].

Taking place between 16-24 March 2024, the first-of-its-kind eviivo Collective 2.0 World Tour is designed to celebrate the independent accommodation sector [and the contribution of independent hoteliers, property owners and short-term rental hosts] by projecting an outdoor short cinema in renowned hot spots across eight iconic cities.

Premiering at SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, and ending in London, UK, the film will highlight the ten best independent properties in the world – and it will also run as a contest. The public in attendance can enter and win an all-expense paid stay at their favourite property [via QR code] showcased in the cinema.

eviivo CEO Michele Fitzpatrick said: “For over a decade, eviivo’s mission has always focused on championing the hardworking hoteliers, hosts and owners of independent properties. With the recognition, eviivo Collective brought to the short-term rental industry, we’re thrilled to give independent accommodation a bigger spotlight this year.

“The quality of independent accommodation doesn’t always get the limelight it deserves, so we will be showcasing some of the world’s best boutique hotels, vacation rentals, Airbnbs, inns and other inspiring getaways. With our tour, we’re excited to bring the spotlight — quite literally — on some of the best independent properties to the world,” she added

The short cinema project will be achieved in collaboration with DRIVEABOUT Projection — a vintage VW LT35 that is part art installation, projection mapping rig, outdoor cinema projector and pop-up space. Equipped with a projector that has the capability to project visuals that scale the size of the Empire State Building [with 100,000 lumens], the vehicle is said to be the UK’s first and only outdoor cinema mobile projector.

The public can follow the world tour stops through a live tracker on eviivo social media platforms [@eviivo on Instagram, X – formerly Twitter, Facebook and TikTok] and dedicated web page.

eviivo says that eviivo Collective, a collection of notable and luxury independent properties, represents the first time that a travel tech company has launched a software vendor program that is designed to promote and advocate the independent accommodation sector. The company works with its partners, such as online travel agencies [OTAs] and other hospitality brands, to showcase independently-owned properties.

eviivo launched eviivo Collective in 2023, as part of a ten-year anniversary milestone. All eviivo properties worldwide are automatically part of eviivo Collective, while eviivo Collective is free with no cost to be part of the program.

Independent Accommodation Day, an official registered day of recognition, occurs globally and annually every 24 March, when people can celebrate independently-owned properties and their workforce by using the #IADay2024 hashtag.

eviivo CTO Eric White said: “As innovators, eviivo is proud to provide our customers the best product in the industry, from eviivo Mobile, our award-winning mobile app with first-of-its-kind features, to the very first generative-AI guest messaging tool, eviivo Concierge, for property owners to use on their websites. With our global initiatives such as eviivo Collective, we continue to show our commitment to the independent accommodation sector goes beyond our software.”

The company’s software is used for 800,000 bookings per month by 26,000+ accommodations worldwide, ranging from hotels to vacation rentals / Airbnbs,  resorts, B&Bs, urban rentals, guest houses, serviced apartments, inns, villas, cottages, campsites and unique accommodations such as windmills, boats, castles and yurts.
