France/Netherlands: Vacation rental marketplace HomeToGo expanded its partnership with weather protection provider WeatherPromise to France and the Netherlands, extending weather-protection coverage to two of the company’s core European markets.
The feature, launched in Germany in May 2024, allows travellers to receive compensation when rainfall reaches a defined level during their stay. HomeToGo said thousands of German guests had already booked with the protection in place, marking the first time a short-term rental platform in Europe integrated weather coverage directly into the booking journey.
The latest rollout made WeatherPromise available to French and Dutch customers booking stays in any global destination. The move comes shortly after HomeToGo acquired Interhome, Europe’s second-largest vacation rental management company. WeatherPromise will also be offered on Interhome’s website as part of the wider integration.
David Klemm, co-founder of WeatherPromise, said the extension was a natural progression as demand for weather protection grows across Europe. Ben Gordon, director of consumer product at HomeToGo, said the partnership supported the company’s aim to “unlock better stays” for guests.
WeatherPromise works with travel and experience companies to provide guarantees for holidays, outdoor activities and events. HomeToGo, founded in Berlin in 2014, operates an AI-powered vacation rental marketplace and a B2B software division, HomeToGo_PRO, and runs localised sites in more than thirty countries.
