Minut launches occupancy monitoring
Sweden: Property monitoring company Minut is adding occupancy to its existing core set of features: noise, security and temperature monitoring.
The Malmo-based company says the features together will provide hosts and property managers worldwide with “the most robust property monitoring solution on the market”.
Minut’s new ‘Crowd detect’ feature counts the number of mobile devices in the property and will alert the host if the threshold for the home has been exceeded, indicating that a large gathering [such as a party] might be assembling.
The host will be able to see the number of devices detected in the Minut mobile app at all times. If the number of devices rises above the preset threshold, Minut will notify the host, so that they can check on their property instantly and make sure it is not overcrowded.
Crowd detect is the latest feature in Minut’s continued efforts to make short-term rental work for guests, hosts and neighbours alike.
Overcrowding can have a negative impact on both the home and community at large. Not only can it signal a party kicking off, but it also increases the wear and tear and can violate community rules, which is why keeping an eye on occupancy is so important.
Nils Mattisson, CEO and co-founder of Minut, said: “Minut is on a mission to make short-term rentals work better for all stakeholders. Today we’re adding occupancy monitoring to help hosts combat crowding.
“Crowding is a serious problem with adverse effects on homes and communities alike that’s been difficult for hosts to monitor without invading on guest privacy. We’re proud to make this feature available to all customers for free in order to maximise our impact,” he added.
In combination with their noise and motion monitoring features, occupancy makes Minut the most reliable and smartest property monitoring solution on the market, available to hosts and property managers worldwide.
Minut recently announced a partnership with San Francisco-based flexible accommodations provider Kasa Living in a bid to offer protection across Kasa’s expanding portfolio of properties. Through the partnership, Kasa is set to install Minut sensors in all of its 30+ Us markets.
