Operto buys DACK to revolutionise guest experience

Canada: Smart device automation and SaaS software, Operto Guest Technologies, has announced that it has entered into an agreement for the strategic acquisition of DACK, a mobile app which enables STR operators and boutique hotels to provide their guests with digital stay and post-booking experiences.

The acquisition is Operto’s third in the last three years, following the purchase of vacation rental operations software solution VRScheduler in 2021 and smart hospitality technology company STAYmyway in 2022.

Fuelled by significant venture capital investments, including a $12 million USD Series A round in January 2022 and a $25 million Series B raise in March 2023, Operto says that it is reinforcing its commitment to spearheading innovation in hospitality technology. The company was also recently recognised as one of Canada’s ‘Companies to Watch‘ in the 2023 Deloitte Fast50 programme. 

Operto CEO Steve Davis said: “We’re delighted to welcome DACK and its visionary team into the Operto family. This move is more than an acquisition – it’s a unification of two trailblazers, both dedicated to redefining the guest experience through seamless, innovative solutions.”

Through the integration, the two companies are promising a unified platform that manages every aspect of the guest journey, from booking to checkout, under one roof.
