Vancouver: Operto Guest Technologies, an industry leader of Smart Stay technology and smart devices for the hotel and short-term rental industries, has announced it has appointed Steven Davis as its new CEO.
He will take the reins of the fast-growing, global SaaS business that is aiming to be the best-in-class operating system for property managers across the full spectrum of accommodations. Operto connects guests and teams to meaningful technology and has proven to dramatically enhance and simplify the guest experience.
Davis joins Operto from Slalom Capital, where he was the CEO and founder.
He started his formal career at Apple in South Africa back in 2006 and has since worked in a variety of senior leadership roles across multiple technology companies, both in London, UK, and Vancouver, BC. Davis’ deep experience in technology sales and product marketing, coupled with first-hand experience / involvement in product design, development, launch and customer support, make him a natural leadership fit for Operto, at this exciting phase of the company’s growth.
Davis said of his new role: “I’m humbled and honoured to be joining the Operto team as CEO, at such a critical time in its growth. The Operto team has built and launched a truly innovative, world-class product for property managers, across the global accommodation spectrum.
“Operto is addressing and solving real-world problems for real people in the accommodation industry, and its rapid growth over the past two years speaks to this fact. I believe that Operto has a fantastic business model, talented management team, and is uniquely positioned to capitalise on this evolving, high-growth market,” he added.
Darren Huston, executive chairman of Operto, said: “I am really excited to have Steve take on the leadership of our company. In just two years, and through some of the most challenging times for our customers, Operto has continued to deliver excellent service and innovation to our clients. We have an amazing pipeline of new innovations that we can’t wait to launch, and Steve is the right guy to do this for us.
“I also want to thank Michael Driedger for his great service to the company since its founding. He led Operto from its birth to what it is today and I wish him all the best in his next ventures,” he added.
Davis replaces co-founder and former CEO, Michael Driedger, who led the company from its inception to becoming a global hospitality technology provider.
Operto Guest Technologies is a leading property automation system for managing all types of guest accommodation including vacation rentals, hotels, and serviced apartments.
