Madrid: Revyoos, the first and only all-in-one review aggregator for short-term rentals, has been announced as the winner of the 2020 VrTech Startup Competition, an annual awards celebrating the most innovative startups in the vacation rental industry, which is sponsored by Rentals United and Howzat Partners.
The three finalists, Revyoos, Check-In Scan, and Domo by Ki, competed at the virtual Vacation Rental World Summit on 10-11 October. Each startup had five minutes to pitch their business to an online audience of property managers, owners and industry experts at the summit, and Revyoos was chosen as the ultimate winner on Sunday evening.
Christophe Salmon, co-founder and CEO of Revyoos, said: “The VrTech awards are a reference for any tech startups in our industry. We could not be more honoured, excited and proud to get this award only three months after the Beta launch.
“This is an incredible valuation of our product directly from hundreds of property managers and owners. Thank you to everyone who voted for us and to the incredible team behind Revyoos,” he added.
The VrTech competition, now in its fourth year, aims to showcase young tech companies creating innovative solutions for the vacation rental industry. The vacation rental industry, spawned by the growth of the short-term market, holds many enthusiastic startups and strong innovators.
This year’s contestants covered a wide array of tech innovations including check-in apps, guest screening, home automation, investment platforms, peer-to-peer marketplaces and business intelligence.
Vanessa de Souza Lage, founder of the competition and CMO of Rentals United, said: “My sincere congratulations to Revyoos and the team! It’s not an easy task to get to the final of the VrTech Award and let alone win it – with our highly esteemed judging panel and the discerning public.
“We are honoured to highlight all three finalists of the startup competition. The competition is critical to VrTech’s mission, which is to create a community that brings together vacation rental industry leaders and game changers to share our ideas and visions, and particularly to celebrate innovation and creativity.
“The tech space is filled with enthusiastic startups with strong innovation, and VrTech applauds Revyoos which highlights the prominence of guest reviews in the short-term rental space,” she added.
Revyoos aims to bridge a gap in the market for genuine review collation and reputation management in short-term rentals, already commonplace in the hotel industry.
The “easy-to-use” platform and customisable widget, enables property managers and owners to automatically gather all reviews spread across different channels and use them as social proof on their own websites. This results in improved credibility, SEO and increased conversions.
The VrTech competition was started by Rentals United to celebrate and support the creativity of the most innovative tech start-ups in the short-term rental industry. As the tech ecosystem in this space continues to develop and grow, this award gives start-ups offering clever solutions the exposure they deserve.
Previous winners of the VrTech award include Operto, Stasher and Hello Here.
