Portico Host service expands to North West England
Manchester: Short-term lettings service Portico Host, which specialises in Airbnb management, is expanding to North West England.
Portico Host, which is part of estate and lettings agency Portico, provides landlords with the opportunity to utilise Airbnb management services, and short and long-term lettings solutions under one umbrella platform.
The expansion into the North West is the company’s first venture outside of London, motivated by the company’s strategy to diversify its offering to clients and its partnership with Airbnb.
Portico Host has launched the service in Manchester in collaboration with coffee retailer, Pot Kettle Black in the Barton Arcade area, as well as in Liverpool. The Portico team will be based remotely, with the aim of bringing property services to the heart of the communities it serves.
How can landlords make the most of the Portico Host platform?
Using the Portico platform, property owners and landlords will be able to receive advice and guidance on the rental market, meet with their account manager and access the relevant services.
Using Portico’s instant valuation tool, landlords can find the short or long-term rental value of their property. Through the professional co-host programme, Airbnb will collaborate with the service to implement Portico best practices, provide additional support, and enable further technological integration.
How has the Portico Host service evolved since its foundation?
Business director Fiona Patterson has watched the evolution of the Portico Host lettings service over the years.
Patterson said: “It’s no secret that the lettings industry is evolving, and at Portico, we intend to change with it. After the success of Portico Host in London and our collaboration with Airbnb, it seemed only natural to bring our award-winning service to the best place for landlords to invest in the UK.
“Liverpool and Manchester share a vibrant Airbnb and letting market, enabling Portico landlords to achieve better yields for their properties,” she added.
Who will be leading the expansion venture in the North West?
The expansion venture is being led by Rachel Dickman, who joins the team as Portico’s regional manager for the North West.
Dickman has previously worked with property agents including YOPA and Countrywide.
Meanwhile, Emma O’Rourke has been appointed Portico host manager for Manchester.
Dickman said: “This is an exciting time to be in the property industry. The North West is a natural next step for Portico Host, as Airbnb short term rentals generated over £37m in revenue in 2018 alone, according to Airbnb’s most recent insight report, and boosted the overall UK economy by £3.5bn.
“I look forward to bringing Portico Host to the North West’s vibrant marketplace,” she added.
