UK Leisure Parks grows parks portfolio in Yorkshire Dales

UK: The Parks team at commercial real estate firm Colliers, on behalf of Leisure Resorts, has sold Rivers Edge Park in Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales to UK Leisure Parks for an undisclosed sum.

Leisure Resorts has owned and operated Rivers Edge Park since 2019 and is now selling it to UK Leisure Parks across Lancashire, Cheshire and Yorkshire. The sale is part of a restructuring by the company so as to expand in the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and in North Yorkshire.

UK Leisure Parks owner Myles McCarthy said: “At UK Leisure Parks, we promise a lifestyle that offers modern, well-equipped holiday homes in desirable locations, surrounded by like-minded neighbours and amenities close to hand. When we came across Rivers Edge Holiday Park, we knew it was meant to be.

“Two generations of the McCarthy family have worked extremely hard to ensure our guests experience a well-deserved, stress free lifestyle with peace, tranquillity, and a renewed sense of community. I feel confident that Rivers Edge will help us to maintain this reputation,” added McCarthy.

Located within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Rivers Edge Park spans 29.8 acres with a total of 190 pitches – 174 are allocated for leisure / holiday purposes and 16 are for residential use.

Richard Moss, head of UK parks agency at Colliers, said: “What an exciting time for UK Leisure Parks, adding Rivers Edge to its expanding portfolio is strong show of its growth aspirations. The park is well established in the region, benefitting from a consistent and excellent trading performance year-round.

“Its prime riverside location, within a 90-minute drive from some of the UK’s most stunning national parks, is undoubtedly a key factor in its projected growth,” he added.

It represents Leisure Resorts’ latest high-profile transaction following the sale of Kendal-based Lakesway Holiday Home and Lodge Park to holiday home ownership group Pure Leisure Group for an undisclosed fee in February. That deal was also facilitated by the Parks team at Colliers.
