US: US airline JetBlue has announced a partnership with Expedia Group vacation rental brand Vrbo through its travel booking website Paisly.

Launched in 2021, Paisly by JetBlue enables travellers who are JetBlue customers or TrueBlue [JetBlue’s loyalty programme] members to book non-flight related trip elements such as vacation rentals, hotels, car rentals, activities and travel bags a-la-carte style, all while earning TrueBlue points [counting towards future free JetBlue flights] and tiles [counting towards Perks You PickTM and Mosaic ‘elite’ status].

As a result of the partnership, travellers and members will now be able to use the Paisly site to book those trip elements through Vrbo.

To celebrate the launch, JetBlue customers who book their next Vrbo vacation rental through Paisly between now and 25 August will be able to earn three times TrueBlue points [3,000 points] on bookings, bringing them closer to a reward flight.

A $1,000 Vrbo booking on Paisly will help customers get their first Perk You Pick, giving them access to perks such as a free in-flight alcoholic drink, early boarding or priority security. Meanwhile, a $5,000 Vrbo booking on Paisly will give a customer Mosaic status and they can build up through different tiers.

Currently, TrueBlue members can earn one TrueBlue point per dollar that they spend on Paisly, while each $100 they spend on Paisly purchases will earn them one Mosaic tile, giving them access to more perks, extra points, exclusive access, award-winning service and more.

The August promotion will now help customers earn three TrueBlue points per dollar that they spend on Vrbo reservations through Paisly – meaning a $3,000 stay would earn 9,000 TrueBlue points [and a potential reward flight].

After launching three years ago, Paisly by JetBlue now sells over 850,000 properties from Vrbo. The partnership will give customers access to a wider range of inventory if they would prefer an alternative to a traditional hotel room.

Vrbo already belongs to Expedia Group’s One Key loyalty programme, alongside online travel agencies such as Expedia and Hotels.com. The programme, which launched in the United States last year and enables customers to earn and use rewards on eligible flights, hotels, vacation homes, car rentals, cruises and activities, is set to roll out globally soon, including in the UK.
