US: Privately-owned long-term rental platform Zumper is now set to offer short-term rental owners and managers a dedicated experience to advertise their vacation and monthly rentals in front of the company’s 178 million annual visitors.
The new short-term rental product will include features that are necessary for an “effective, streamlined” experience, including integration with leading channel managers [including BookingPal and Rentals United], a mobile-first approach, calendar integration, and access to the latest technology, including 3D tour integrations.
With Statista reporting that the vacation rental category alone is projected to reach $17.6 billion in value this year, Zumper believes that it can cater to the demand for short-term and flexible renting, and states that its product comes at a lower cost to owners and property managers than “many” traditional short-term rental sites.
The company claims the benefits of advertising on its site include:
-
“Listings on Zumper result in longer average nightly stay”: Zumper renters on average stay 2.6 times longer than from other sites.
-
“The Zumper customer is unique in the industry”: 67 per cent of Zumpers audience is in the highly-desirable 18-49 age category. This is a “significantly higher” percentage than most traditional listing sites.
-
“Zumper gives more bang for your buck”: With a ten per cent hosting fee and no guest fee, Zumper says that it is “significantly more cost effective” than many competitors. In addition, property managers and owners who sign up before 1 July 2022 are due to receive free bookings until 31 August 2022.
With over $178 million in funding, more than 500,000 short term and vacation listings and one million active long-term listings, Zumper says that it is on a mission to make renting an apartment as easy as booking a hotel.
Zumper’s new short-term rental product is currently in BETA testing, with the fully designed product expected to launch in Q3 of this year.
Taylor Glass-Moore, co-founder of Zumper, said: “There is a massive need to provide more short-term rental options for both renters and owners alike. Consumers, including our seven million-plus monthly users, want access to the best long- and short-term rentals available. And landlords and property managers want a fully booked calendar, without all the high fees.
“Zumper’s product is designed to meet today’s flexible world by providing more access to renters, while delivering cost-effective leads for owners and property managers nationwide,” added Glass-Moore.
