UK: The Short-Term Accommodation Association (STAA) has appointed Simon Lehmann as Director with responsibility for Europe and the Global Association Network.

The AJL Atelier ceo’s background spans across the hospitality industry, bringing experience as the co-founder of Vacasa Europe, president of PhocusWright as well as operational leadership roles at Interhome, Hotelplan Group and Swissport.

At AJL Atelier, Lehmann advises operators, technology companies and investors on strategy, growth and M&A across Europe and internationally.

At the STAA, Lehmann will focus on strengthening the association’s relationships across Europe and deepen engagement with counterpart organisations. He will also focus on strengthening the Global Association Network as a platform for international collaboration, shared standards and industry alignment.

Andy Fenner, ceo of the STAA, said: “It is fantastic to welcome Simon to the team. His stature in the travel sector and his international experience will add enormous strength to the STAA as we continue to build our role as the national voice for short-term rental tourism.”

“It will also be a pleasure to welcome Simon to the stage at the forthcoming Short Stay Summit on 21 April, which is set to be our biggest Summit yet.”

Lehmann said: “The short-term rental sector is entering a new phase of maturity, with increasing importance around professionalism, regulation and long-term sustainability. Strong, well-connected trade associations have a critical role to play in shaping that future.
