US/Caribbean: Airbnb and Airbnb.org have announced partnerships with Caribbean disaster management organisations to strengthen emergency housing support and community preparedness ahead of the 2026 hurricane season.

Airbnb.org, the independent non-profit founded by Airbnb, has signed an agreement with the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) to help provide free temporary accommodation for people displaced by natural disasters across its 20 member countries.

Under the agreement, CDEMA will coordinate with local responders to identify housing needs following a disaster, while Airbnb.org will help mobilise emergency accommodation through its platform.

Airbnb.org said it has provided more than 1,500 nights of emergency housing across the Caribbean since 2020 following hurricanes including Fiona, Beryl and Melissa.

Separately, Airbnb has launched a hurricane safety guide in collaboration with CDEMA and the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO). The guide will be shared with hosts across the region and includes information on hurricane preparedness, emergency procedures and local contact details.
