Global: Experiences distribution platform Holibob has launched a free software development kit designed to help travel and accommodation brands embed bookable tours and activities into their websites.
The Holibob SDK, which is now available in a sandbox environment, creates a ready-made experiences storefront featuring search results, product pages and checkout functionality.
It provides an alternative to Holibob’s existing storefronts and widgets or a custom integration built through its API.
Holibob claims the toolkit can reduce the time required to build an experiences storefront from around six months to as little as three days.
For short-term rental property managers, the technology could provide a quicker route to offering local activities through direct-booking websites, creating an additional revenue opportunity while adding more services to the guest journey.
Once downloaded and configured, the storefront connects to Holibob’s catalogue of more than 500,000 bookable tours, attractions, live events and dining experiences.
The platform initially operates in test mode without processing payments or contacting activity providers. If a travel brand decides to launch the storefront publicly, the same setup can be activated after signing a commercial agreement with Holibob.
Craig Everett, CEO and co-founder of Holibob, said that although travel brands recognise the opportunity presented by experiences, lengthy development timelines have prevented many from acting on it.
He added: “A developer can have a real, working storefront running before the next roadmap review, and the business can see and test the whole thing before a single commercial conversation happens.”
The launch follows the introduction of Holibob’s AI-powered booking platform in June 2026. The conversational interface allows travellers to describe their trip using a prompt before receiving recommendations from the company’s experiences catalogue.
