India: Airbnb has announced the introduction of its Plus Homes range in India, which it claims will be synonymous with “both quality and design”.
Airbnb Plus has been unveiled as a range featuring “high calibre” Airbnb homes. All Plus Homes are visited in person and verified against a detailed inspection checklist, therefore ensuring greater comfort and quality.
The Airbnb Plus service is already available in more than 41 cities worldwide.
The rental company said Plus Homes celebrates hosts who go the extra distance in striving to provide the very best service to its guests. These hosts are granted nine times the visibility and the ability to earn 75 per cent more, on average, than on other listings.
Airbnb co-founder and chief strategy officer, Nathan Blecharczyk, said: “We think there’s a rising tide here in India. Travel to emerging economies is expected to increase at twice the rate of travel to advanced economies from now until 2030, which is a truly promising opportunity for Airbnb in India.”
Airbnb revealed over one million Indians travelled with Airbnb globally in 2018 and in the past year alone, there has been a 115 per cent increase in listings in India.
Airbnb country manager for India, Amanpreet Bajaj, said: “Increasingly, more Indians want to travel on a frequent basis which is a millennial trend. With 410 million millennials—more than the entire population of the US—making up the dominant segment of consumers, our focus is on making sure there is an Airbnb for everyone.”
