Italy: Smart Stay property automation solution Operto Guest Technologies has been announced as the winner of the VrTech startup competition in Lake Como, an annual awards ceremony celebrating the most innovative startups in the vacation rental industry.
The three finalists, Cohosting, Operto and Check-in Scan, competed on stage at the Vacation Rental World Summit in Lake Como, Italy. Each startup had ten minutes to pitch their business to the crowd of property managers, owners and industry experts at the summit, who chose Operto as the ultimate winner.
Michael Driedger, co-founder and CEO of Operto, said: “Operto is very honoured to win this unique award and we would like to thank the team at VrTech and all those who voted for our solution. Our Operto team in Vancouver, who work so hard to service the vacation rental industry and continually improve our Smart Stay property automation software for professional property managers, are truly the reason for our success.”
The VrTech competition, which is sponsored by leading channel manager solution, Rentals United and Howzat Partners, is now in its third year.
Vanessa de Souza Lage, founder of the competition and CMO of Rentals United, said: “Congratulations to Operto for winning the VrTech startup competition and also to Cohosting and Check-In scan for being excellent runners up.
“We started both the VrTech series of events and VrTech competition in order to encourage and inspire technological innovation in the vacation rental industry. Collaboration and creativity are critical elements of the entire professional ecosystem and we are honoured to have a leading part in that,” she added.
Rentals United also recently announced the second edition of its Vacation Rental Tech Week run of industry events would be held in Barcelona between 4 and 8 November, culminating in the inaugural Short Stay Summit.
