Worldwide: Airbnb has unveiled its 25 trending destinations for guests to visit in 2025.
The list includes destinations that are surging in popularity, based on an increase in searches made by solo travellers, families and groups for trips in 2025, compared to the year before. It also includes the most ‘wishlisted’ cities of 2024 that Airbnb predicts will continue to trend into the new year, such as Vancouver [Canada] and Houston [USA].
Airbnb’s data shows that interest in experiential travel continues to rise as we approach 2025, with guests increasingly searching for destinations during major events such as sports tournaments, concerts and cultural festivals.
Airbnb’s 25 trending destinations in 2025 are:
- Puerto Escondido, Mexico
- Green Bay, Wisconsin, United States
- Tokyo, Japan [topping the trending list for 2025 – especially with Gen Z travellers]
- Palermo, Italy [a top destination for duo travellers in 2025]
- Cartagena, Colombia
- Charleston, South Carolina, United States
- La Serena, Chile [a top family destination in 2025]
- Kyoto, Japan [a top searched destination for family travel]
- Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada [one of the most ‘wishlisted’ destinations for 2024]
