The integration is now live and will enable hosts and property managers to automate the guest check-in process by sharing the lock code with their guests.
Over the past year, smart locks have helped millions of hosts welcome guests while practising social distancing. Contactless check-in has proven to be an ideal way to offer safety to travellers during the pandemic, becoming an industry standard.
As guests and hosts have grown accustomed to the freedom and convenience smart locks bring, they have become an integral part of the short-term rental experience.
The new integration between Minut and igloohome is designed to make contactless check-ins even easier. Minut will fetch the lock code from igloohome and send it via a text message to the guests prior to their check-in date.
When the guests arrive at their rental, Minut will notify the host so they know that the check-in has been completed. This way, all manual work from the check-in process is removed, making it more time-efficient and less error-prone.
Nils Mattisson, CEO and co-founder of Minut, said: “Sharing works better for everyone when we work together in the industry. By combining igloohome smart locks with Minut sensors we make contactless check-ins better—letting hosts know when guests have arrived or left and enabling more timely automated messaging for guests.
“We’re thrilled to work with igloohome who share our vision of creating the best possible home sharing experience for hosts and guests alike,” he added.
Laure Correia, sales director of igloohome France, said: “We’re pleased to be working with Minut. With clear signs pointing to a global post-pandemic travel boom and analysts optimistic about short-term rental market growth, igloohome and Minut are well equipped to support short-term rental hosts in protecting their homes from parties, noise complaints, damage and intruders in a smart, automated, scalable way.”
Smart lock integrations adds to Minut’s goal of helping hosts provide top-notch guest experience.
The company recently launched scheduled check-in and check-out messaging, as well as Autocall and occupancy monitoring. The integration is now available to hosts and property managers worldwide.
